Mediclinic reported its full-year results for the period ended 31 March 2020. The group’s revenue increased slightly, up by 5% compared to the previous period, to £3.1 billion (2018: £2.9 billion). The company reported an operating loss of £184 million (FY2019: operating profit of £81 million) and the total reported loss for the period was £320 million (FY2019: £151 million). Adjusted earnings per share declined by 8% to 24.7 pence, and the total dividend for the year was 3.20 pence per share (FY19: 7.90), paid in December 2019.
The South African business, which is the third-largest private health care group in Southern Africa, contributed 29% towards group revenue.
