On the 18th of February, Gold Fields released its annual results for the year ended 31 December 2020. Revenue for the year increased by 31% to USD3.8bn (FY2019: USD2.96bn). Despite the COVID-19 interruptions, the group managed to increase its production from 2,195koz in 2019 to 2,236koz in 2020. Headline earnings per share from continued operations rose to 83 USD cents (FY2019: 20 USD cents). The company declared a final dividend of 320 SA cents, taking the total dividend for the year to R4.80 per share.
Despite the fact that Gold Fields is listed on the JSE, South Africa represents only 10% of the group’s production. Australia accounts for 45% of GFI’s production, Ghana 35%, and Chile 9%.
