On the 19th of August, Gold Fields released its H1 2021 results for the six months ended 30th of June 2021. Revenue increased by 13% to $1.98bn (H1 2020: $1.75bn). The increase in revenue was due to a 3% increase in gold sold to 1 1023koz (H1 2020: 10 718koz) and a 10% higher gold price received over the period. Despite COVID-19 related interruptions, the group increased its production from 1 062koz in H1 2020 to 1 099koz in 2021. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent for the group increased by 148% to $387mil (H1 2020: $156mil).
The diverse geographical locations that the company operates in provides the group with a competitive advantage over peers. South Africa represents only 11% of the group’s production.
